- What is Synscape?
- Synscape is a visual music instrument. You build moving patterns — polygons, pendulums, orbits and more — and their motion becomes melodies, rhythms and harmonies in real time.
- Is Synscape a DAW?
- No. Synscape is a standalone instrument for discovering ideas. It can be used on its own, or it can send MIDI live into your DAW so you continue arranging, producing and mixing where you already work.
- Is SynScape a VST or AU plugin?
- No. SynScape is a standalone application, not a VST or AU plugin. You can use it by itself as a visual music instrument, or as a real-time MIDI sequencer that sends MIDI to instruments and plugins inside your DAW.
- Does it support MIDI?
- Yes. Synscape sends MIDI out to other instruments and applications, supports MIDI controllers, and lets you export MIDI files of everything you play.
- Can I use Synscape with my DAW?
- Yes. Synscape can send MIDI live from the standalone app into DAWs that accept MIDI input, allowing you to play software instruments and continue arranging, producing and mixing inside the DAW.
- Can beginners use it?
- Yes. Scales and note sets keep everything in key, so you can create music that sounds intentional from the first minute.
- Does it work on macOS?
- Yes. Synscape runs on modern macOS with Apple Silicon (M1 or newer).
- Does it work on Windows?
- Yes. Synscape runs on Windows 10 and Windows 11.
- Does Synscape work on Intel Macs?
- SynScape supports Apple Silicon Macs only (M1 or newer). Intel Macs are not currently supported.
- Can I use my own samples and instruments?
- Yes. Load your own instruments inside the standalone app, or send MIDI out to any sampler, synth or plugin you already own.
- Do I need to know music theory?
- No. Theory helps, but scales, note sets and probability controls do the heavy lifting so you can work by ear.
- Does it work offline?
- Yes. Synscape runs entirely on your computer and needs no internet connection to make music.
- Which DAWs are supported?
- Any DAW that accepts MIDI input from the standalone app — including Ableton Live, Logic Pro, FL Studio, Bitwig Studio, Cubase, Studio One and Reaper. You send MIDI live from Synscape into the DAW and continue working there.
- Are there trial limitations?
- The 30-day free trial includes every feature, with no locked patterns, no export limits and no watermark.
- How do updates work?
- Early Access includes free updates. New patterns, musical controls and improvements arrive at no extra cost.
- What does the license cover?
- Early Access is a one-time purchase with a lifetime license for personal and commercial music production. Music you make with Synscape is entirely yours.
- How does it perform?
- Synscape is built to stay responsive with many patterns running at once, with low-latency audio and MIDI timing on typical modern hardware.
- How do I get support?
